Participate in an Internet music collaboration project which connects music students and their teachers with others who are interested in music composition. In addition, we have professional composers who are linked into this community and who are interested in providing feedback to the students who create music compositions.  The project, MICNET, is directed by Northwestern University School of Music assistant professor, Dr. Maud Hickey, with help from members of the Northwestern University Collaboratory project.  Click here to see an example.

Music to Our Ears

In the past, because written music requires basic music literacy, the songs that children created on the spur of the moment were difficult to record, replicate, or edit. Technology has solved that problem by providing a number of inexpensive ways in which children can write and record their own music.
